Jul 04, 2001 ER's Dream
On the way through the kitchen to the cellar I met ER, one of the managers, and he gave me permission to continue my investigation downstairs in the cellar. As we descended the steps and I was running the video, ER began a conversation about the belief of ghosts. I asked him if he believed in ghost and he said, "Yes, but I've never had experiences like a lot of the folks here have. When I have an encounter with a ghost it's usually in a dream. I know it is a visit because it is too real to be just a dream and I get messages from the person that has passed on. He told me that his twin brother, David, had a good friend that had died and for a while he would dream about him. The most confusing thing about David's dreams was that his friend's eye sockets were blackened without eyes. He figured he was appearing that way because he was dead. It just so happened that the mother of the deceased boy heard about David's dream and commented that the eyes were the only things they could donate after his accident. I told ER that I believe that David's friend was letting him know that he was actually visiting him in his dreams as a ghost and he gave him a clue by appearing without eyes. Since David did not know that his eyes were missing his subconscious could not have know to dream that.Thanking ER for sharing that story we continued our walk into the belly of the cellar and I started setting up my equipment for the rest of the investigation. ER left to go back upstairs to finish his duties, as the dinner hour was getting pretty hectic. We set up our equipment and started our ghost hunt down in the cellar.

When he had finished with his duties ER came back down into the cellar to join us with his girlfriend. He wanted her to meet us and he wanted me to show him how the dowsing rods worked. I told him that to get yes and no questions I only use one rod. If the answer to the question is "no" the rod will move slightly back and forth. If the answer is "yes" it will move up and down. When I'm getting ready to receive a ghost/spirit the rod will start to tingle in my hand. Sometimes it will swing all the way to the left or right to let me know that someone is ready.

As I started to demonstrate this, the rod started to tingle and then
vibrated more than I was accustom to. I said to ER that I was picking up
someone with a strong presence and just about that time the rod swung
around and was pointing to the girl that had just joined us. I got a
feeling that the spirit wanted to know who the girl was. She introduced
herself as Kim and then I was prompted to ask her if she worked there
and she said yes. Once the spirit had that information the rod went back
to the question position. First I asked if it was a male and the
response was "yes". I asked him if he had passed for more than
5 years and the response was "no". Then I asked him if he had
been passed for more than 3 and the response was "yes" so that
meant he had only been dead for 4 years. Then, as if in a trance, my
monotone voice started spurting out information that was coming so fast.
He's a male, a young male, he worked at the Tavern when he was 17 and he
died in a car accident 4 years ago. I said, "Wow, I've never done
that before." I looked at ER and he had this amazing glare at me. I
said, "Do you know of anyone that fits this information?" He
hesitated and said in disbelief, "This is the boy I was telling you
about earlier. This is Frank. He was killed in 1997 four years ago. I
know he worked here at the Tavern when he was younger and he could have
been 17 years old at that time (we checked later and he did work there
at 17). He didn't die in a car accident but he was hit by a car and
died." I explained to ER it was still an accident and it involved a
car, even though he wasn't in the car it was still a car accident.
I was so happy that for the first time I had identified a spirit that
was giving me information through the rods. ER asked me if I could get
back in touch with this spirit and ask other questions. I had dropped
the rod and through my excitement of acknowledgment had lost the
connection. I held my rod up to try again. At first nothing, but slowly
it started again. The contact was strong and I let ER ask the questions
to see if the answers would match. These are questions that I would not
know the answers to because I didn't know either one of these guys. The
answers were coming through correctly and we found out that Frank had
moved on into the light. He was no longer a ghost but now a spirit who
came back for a visit. This weekend his 2 younger brothers had graduated
from grammar school and he wanted to be there with them. He let us know
that he was happy and that there is life after death.
I asked him if there was a friend there with him and the response was
"yes". I asked him if this friend had joined him within the
last year and the response was "yes". Then I asked if the
spirit was a male or female and the response was "male". I
asked ER had any of Frank's friends died within this year that could be
there with him and he said yes.

At this point ER asked me to take a picture of him to see if we could
get something in our photos. I asked Frank's permission to take his
picture and if he could make a shape or something so that we could get
him in the photo. My recorder is still recording and at this point a
voice comes out over my voice and says, "I can't really give
one". Of course at the time we were taking the pictures I couldn't
hear that. It was true about the photos. I didn't get any pictures of
any anomalies that might suggest that he was there. I love the voice and
so happy and grateful that we got that instead.

Then I had this idea to test for his presence with the EMF meter. As I
set it up, we waited for it to register a presence. After a few seconds
and nothing happening I asked if Frank was still with us and just then
the EMF meter went off and got stronger and stronger and lasted for
about 20 seconds and then my meter went dead. The batter (9 volt) was
drained from the energy of the spirit. Just at that moment when I asked
if Frank was still with us, on the recorder you can hear a very strong
voice say, "Yes" in a loud breathy whisper and at the same
moment you can hear the meter in the background go off. I was just so
thrilled to get these results simultaneously.
Jul 12, 2001 The Face
This picture was taken at the Talbott Tavern last year around April of
2000. I just went by to visit and got this face in the mirror. When I
went back to do the investigation this past May I was hoping to get some
type of anomaly in my pictures in this room and I did. I didn't get a
face but I got some strange anomalies. This was the same investigation
that I got the voice of Frank. The room next to this room, where I got
the face in the TV, I got the voice, "Behind you" when I asked
if there were any ghosts in this room.
Jul 12, 2001 Red Mist
Another interesting thing about this room is that a few people reported seeing red mist several times in these same 2 rooms. The room with the face in the TV and the other room where I got the voice, "Behind you". Just after the fire in 1998 at the Tavern, I went into the room of, "Behind you" and got a red ectoplasmic mist.

We can't decide if this is an orb or not, but that darn face seems to be there AGAIN in the picture on the far wall!

We returned to the Talbott Tavern July 7, 2001 to continue our
research and to gather more EVP's.
Jul 23, 2001 We Contact a Former Talbott
We started dowsing in the dark deserted kitchen around midnight to see if we could pick up anything. After contacting a male spirit and not getting a lot of information I dropped him and I was able to contact a woman that had died at the Tavern by hanging herself. She claimed to be a part of the Talbott family and her name was Louise or Louise was there with her. She was very sad and I felt she needed help. I asked her if she could go into the light to find peace and she said no. I explained several times how she could benefit to go into the light and she gave me very strong signals of no.submitted by patti

Then it came to me why she was so afraid to go into the light. If she did hang herself she would probably be afraid of judgment. I asked her if she feared judgment and she agreed. I explained to her that if she would go into the light she would be counseled and not judged. She still said no. I told her that I thought she should really be a lot happier if she would go into the light. Soon the rod lost its vibrations and I knew it was to weak to ask any more questions. When we played the tapes back I got several responses on the audiotape during the questions.

After asking yes and no questions I found out that she was a female, she
had died there at the tavern and she had hung herself. As I'm pausing
between these questions you can hear her say, "Help me or Help
one".

I ask her if she is telling me things that I want to hear and there is a
whisper, "No" and a moan.

We had been talking about her going into the light and as I say,
"it would be so much easier", you can her a faint, "not
sure" then I say not sure and then Ashley, another member of my
team repeats my, not sure. I didn't hear the ghost say, "Not
sure". I said, not sure, because the rods hesitated in answering
the questions and I felt that she was not sure. The first not sure is
very faint.

As Ashley is saying sorry for not taking more than 2 pictures you can
hear a voice speak over hers and it sound like something about
"that's the all breaks" it reminds me of someone trying to
say, That's just the breaks.

The next question was if her name was Louise and even before I finish
saying Louise you can hear a quick "yes". The other
"Yes" is Ashley reading the response to the rod.

The last statement to Louise was, "I think that if you would go
into the light, you would be solo much happier" at this point in
the recorded EVP's you can hear two voices say in harmony, "Yeah, I
agree". This was the clearest, strongest, and best response of the
evening. I truly hope she did find peace and went into the light.
